The Best Protein For Women
I have been working out and lifting weights with my husband for a long time, and over the years, under his influence, I've tried my fair share of women's protein shakes. Well, really, they're just the same protein supplements he used, and the ones I've listed above are a few of my all time favorites. Generally, when I look for a whey protein supplement, I look at its protein content, sources of protein, cost, and last but not least, taste.
Overall, of the dozens of different womens whey protein powders I've tried in the past, the biggest two deciding factors for me is probably taste and cost. Most of the whey powders I've used are pure whey supplements, and they contain little in terms of carbohydrates and fat content, and typically, one serving provides around 22-25g of proteins and around 90 to 110 calories. While some women like to rely heavily on protein shakes as a method of weight control, I think that it's more important for one to realize that weight control largely depends on 1) your total calorie intake and 2) your total calorie expenditure. Protein shakes are only one piece of the puzzle to having a complete nutrition, and women need to realize that having a calorie deficit or a calorie surplus will dictate your weight gain or loss.
For women, protein powder supplements provide an additional source of high quality protein. Whey proteins provide essential amino acids, contribute to good health, helps with weight control, enhances immune function, and also speeds up healing and recovery as well.
I've listed a few of the top whey protein supplements for women. Below, you'll find several more women's protein shakes that are quite good as well.
